Using Boveda correctly
Application
- First remove the transparent cover from the Boveda, then simply place the Boveda Himidipak in your humidor and close it, it's that simple.
- Boveda with 69% humidity automatically restores and maintains humidity in airtight tabletop humidors, travel humidors and plastic cigar boxes.
- Do not use Boveda Humidipaks with different humidity levels in the same humidor. Do not use Boveda in the same humidor with other humidification products as they will compete with each other and reduce the efficiency of Boveda.
How many size 18 BOVEDA do you need?
- Use one (1) size 18 Boveda for every 15 cigars (guideline: 10-25 cigars) that the humidor can hold in total. Example: For a humidor with a capacity of 50 cigars, use three (3) size 18 Boveda.
Packaging
Each Boveda is individually wrapped.
Lifespan
- In a humidor: 2- 4 months
- It is recommended to replace the humidor at least every six months, especially if you live in a dry climate or at high altitude.
Test your Boveda regularly
Do the touch test: Order replacement packs in good time. These should arrive before your current Boveda is completely stiff to avoid loss of moisture protection in your humidor.
Your Boveda is still functional if you feel the following:
- Individual hardening at the corners
- Soft spots between some hard areas
Your Boveda has expired when:
- The entire pack feels hard / firm through and through.
The relative humidity:
It is common for the actual humidity in a humidor to settle up to 5% lower than the Boveda Himidipak humidity you are using, due to the quality of the humidor and the dryness of the environment. In an airtight environment, all Boveda are accurate to +/- 2% of the humidity printed on the pack.
