On the front, Mount Fuji rises beneath a radiant full moon. The motif conveys the majestic serenity that transforms a landscape into an icon. On the back, the mood shifts: flashes of lightning streak across a deep-blue sky, capturing the powerful drama of a Japanese summer storm. Two views, two atmospheres, one unmistakable character.
The depictions derive their exceptional depth from the traditional Japanese Kinma lacquer technique. Finely engraved patterns are rendered using select lacquer colors. This creates a nuanced interplay of line, color, and surface, whose artisanal sophistication reveals itself upon close inspection.
Under the supervision of Japanese lacquer art master Yoshito Yamashita, this artistic tradition meets the design language of S.T. Dupont. Warm gold accents and the characteristic diamond-head guilloché pattern frame the motifs with precise elegance.
